Jean describes her notification as a winner:
I didn’t sleep well last night because I was so excited!! LOL
I entered the contest because I had seen many publications and shows on national geographic on the Galapagos Islands and always thought that would be a place I’d like to visit. I was first drawn to the beautiful pictures on the website and when I saw the contest, I knew that I just had to enter and would love to win!
The beautiful pictures of the Galapagos with the beaches and unique animals found on the islands have always drawn my interest in making it a vacation destination. The photos are beautiful and the uniqueness, colors and details of the animals are amazing!
I am particularly interested in seeing the animals and going snorkeling. Just seeing pictures of the huge tortoises and colorful species are amazing so I can’t imagine how exciting it will be to see them in real life. I’m hoping to get some once in a lifetime photo opportunities! My husband and I have enjoyed cruises before so we are really excited about being on a cruise with the opportunity to explore the islands in a way that a typical cruise would never allow.
We’d like to take the trip at the end of February or the beginning of March, 2012. Since we live in Wisconsin, going to the Galapagos will be a nice break from our cold winters. My husband, Pat, is definitely going with me. We will be celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary in February so we are looking forward to this trip to see the beauty of the Galapagos Islands and just enjoy the time together. We have 5 children ranging is ages 15 to 25 so deciding who we will take with us is our biggest challenge right now and we haven’t made that decision yet.
I’d like to thank TakingtheKids.com, TravelingMom.com and Family Travel Forum for this once in a life opportunity!! We are excited to make arrangements and show off photos when we return!
