Atlantic Canada’s Newest Attractions This Summer

Visit Atlantic Canada this summer, full of new national parks with new trails, new luxury inns, and new restaurants–all 30% less expensive than last year. Drive over New Brunswick’s Fundy Trail Parkway–Canada’s best new scenic drive–and access the spectacular mile-long tidal Long Beach. Book a stay at 1840 Gothic Revival Quartermain House, rated #1 in North America in 2014 and 2015 by Booking.com. Catch the Sculpture Saint John event (August 4-September 17), where international artists transform mammoth chunks of New Brunswick granite into works of art along the waterfront. Dine at Port City Royal, the enRoute’s second ”Best New Restaurant in Canada,” and recent San Francisco World Spirits Competition gold medal winner Distillerie Fils du Roy. Travel to Newfoundland and Labrador and see Canada’s newest National Park, Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve, with a stunning array of boreal ecosystems.  Experience Labrador takes visitors hiking, kayaking and camping along the beach.  Follow up with Lori McCarthy’s Cod Sounds, a new culinary adventure company, that leads visitors on foraging expeditions, arrange boil-ups on the beach or host cooking classes! Fly over Nova Scotia on a WestJet daily flight from Boston to Halifax as little as $230 roundtrip! Sail with Bay Ferries will run between Yarmouth, in southern Nova Scotia and Portland, Maine or MV Fundy Rose, which goes between Digby, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick. Celebrate 75 years at Keltic Lodge at the Highlands golf courses! Dine with Dining on the Ocean Floor (at low tide), where you can follow Chowder Trail and Good Cheer Trail. Try two new distilleries opening to the public this summer, too: Authentic Seacoast Distillery and Halifax Distilling Company. Don’t forget to book a stay in Prince Edward Island–especially with the redesigned Inn at Bay Fortune’s, the first five-star inn in eastern PEI or the renovated 1869 covent Sydney Boutique Inn and Suites. Walk along PEI National Park’s new Robinsons Island Trail–leading to a secluded beach for a perfect picnic. Finish at The Table with a cooking course! Don’t forget: Beaverbrook Art Gallery will debut in 2017, full of international art works to view!
