Cheesesteak 101: Getting It Right in Philly

A cheesesteak is a long, crusty roll filled with thinly sliced sautéed rib-eye beef and melted cheese that dates back to 1930. After one delicious lunch told by a taxi driver, Pat’s King of Steaks sold the new creation. Geno’s later added to the competition. Today, there are many places to find great cheesesteaks in Philly. Barclay Prime offers the city’s most expensive cheesesteak. Campo’s Deli keeps to tradition, with a variety of combinations, located a few blocks away from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Chubby’s and Dalessandro’s Steaks are each other’s competition. Chubby’s offer more cheese options than most Philly shops. Dalessandro’s Steaks focus on using the freshest ingredients they can to make delicious cheesesteaks. Find a longer list of place to go here.
