Mark the beginning of the new Mayan era in Mexico this year

During your next trip to Cancun, Mexico, enjoy the ancient roots of the destination’s rich Mayan culture, especially during this winter season, marking the end of the Mayan calendar and the beginning of a new era. The newly opened, $15 million Maya Museum, located next to the also newly opened San Miguelito archeological site, features 350 archeological artifacts that took 30 years to procure and includes relics that have never been shown, including an exhibition of 14,000 year-old skeletal remains discovered in the last 12 years in Tulum’s underwater caves.
