If you’re looking for something to impress your teenagers – or plan a fun experience for yourself – consider being a part of the 50th Summerfest: The World’s Largest Music Festival in Milwaukee WI. It’s 11 days, 11 stages, with over 800 acts and 1,000 performances surrounded by 900,000 fans. Few contemporary music festivals have roots that reach this far and deep. In the late 1960’s, Milwaukee was a city reeling from riots and Mayor Henry Maier was looking for a way to unite the city. He came up with a plan to host the city’s first major music festival and Summerfest was born as a way to “show that Milwaukee is not the city of the clenched fist, but rather the city of the outstretched hand of friendship.” As Summerfest celebrates its 50th this summer, it continues to serve as a landmark cultural event that invites people from all walks of life. The live music events will take place from June 28 – July 02 and July 04 – July 09 2017, featuring headliners announced so far: Tom Petty with Chris Stapleton, Zac Brown Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, P!nk, Luke Bryan, Steve Miller Band and 800+ more announcing soon. Tickets are available now.
