The classic family travel is taking a trip to the outdoors, like a national park! As fun and exciting as it is, it is also important to be safe. The majority of accidents in national parks are related to driving, hiking and water activities. When driving, follow road regulations, be aware of potential road hazards and weather conditions. While in or near water, wear a personal flotation device and watch for riptipes. While hiking, stay on marked trails, carry an adequate supply of food and water and hike in pairs. Lifelong memories are made in national parks, so be smart and be safe. Check out these videos on 10 Essentials, Wild Animals and Getting Lost for park safety, provided by national park rangers.
