Enjoy a “Wake up in The Barnyard” tour every Saturday through October 10th at Coggeshell Farm in Bristol Rhode Island. The Coggeshall Farm Museum is an interactive reproduction of Bristol’s past agrarian life set on 48 unspoiled acres. The museum offers visitors an authentically distinctive southeastern New England experience that changes with the seasons, and is particularly exciting during the fall months. From hearth cooking workshops and maple sugaring to a Fiber Festival and Federal Period interpreters helping visitors carry-out barnyard chores, this museum is unlike any other around. The most popular program is Wake Up in the Barnyard ($10), a Saturday morning program that allows you to partake in the morning chores: feeding a horse, donkey, and ox; gathering freshly laid eggs; milking cows; and cooking johnnycakes on the farmhouse’s hearth.
