Grow with the Family: Organic GardeningJul 25, 2014
This summer, give gardening a shot. Organic Gardening Magazine’s new curriculum “Dig, Plant, Grow!” lets you teach your kids about gardening and the valuable lessons associated with it.
New York City’s American Museum of Natural History is celebrating the reopening of the museum’s Theodore Roosevelt Memorial this month by offering a unique and exciting nature experience within the big city! Enjoy the former President’s favorite hobby any Thursday in February (7, 16, 21 and 28) with a Lunchtime Bird Walk, starting at the museum and into New York City iconic Central Park. Ornithologist Paul Sweet guides participants through three Central Park habitats, where they can catch a glimpse of owls, songbirds and woodpeckers in the woods, seed-eating birds in the fields and several species of ducks and gulls in the Lakes that inhabit the city. Bring a pair of binoculars, wear comfortable shoes and show up ready to explore!
