Volunteer In The San Juan Islands During April

April is National Volunteer Month and what better way to spend than it by giving back to the natural places like the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Here you can work with locals to maintain trails in beautiful Moran State Park on Orcas Island, clean up a beach on San Juan, Orcas, or Lopez Islands, ride your bike in the Tour de Lopez, then enjoy the All-Species Parade in Lopez Village.  Making a springtime visit to the San Juans not only a relaxing getaway, but a great learning opportunity for families with children.  In celebration of Earth Day, San Juan Islands Museum of Art new director, Ian Boyden, welcomes you to “Fragile Waters,” April 23 through September 5, an exhibit of black-and-white photography by Ansel Adams, Dorothy Kerper Monnelly, and Ernest Brooks, all world renowned photographers and lifelong environmentalists.
