TELLURIDE, CO (Day Two) – A break from the slopes at Telluride Ski Resort. I’m ready.  There’s free Yoga at the Telluride Library, plenty of shopping, including a thrift and consignment shop, ice-skating in town and at the mountain village and, of course, a spa.

My daughters  and I head up to one of Colorado’s biggest Spas at The Peaks Resort in the Mountain Village, where kids love the indoor-outdoor heated pool complete with water slide and is ranked a top spa by Conde Nast Traveler.

We’re indulging in massages and pedicures — one of the best pedicures I’ve ever had, in fact.  There’s nothing wrong with a little pampering, especially after days of being outdoors pushing ourselves.  It’s also exceedingly nice to spend time with my daughters who live across the country from each other — and me.

The Spa at the Peaks is the largest in Colorado—over 42,000 square feet with everything from eucaluyptus-infused steam, private men’s and women’s oxygen inhalation lounge (we are over 10,000 feet high, after all), and multi-level fitness center where you can either work with a personal trainer, join a fitness class, swim in an indoor lap pool, play in the indoor squash court or work out in the cardio room.

There are multiple hot tubs and plenty of space just soaking in mineral salt tubs.

Pets aren’t forgotten either.  Not only are rooms dog friendly but there is an onsite doggy spa where dogs can play while you are out on the slope—and even have a Blueberry facial.
