The National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC presents Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence. This major exhibition is on the history of Women’s Suffrage in the United States.

The seven-room display will feature more than 120 portraits and objects spanning from 1832 to 1965 that explore the American suffrage movement and the political challenges women have faced. While playing a pivotal role in the Smithsonian-wide Because of Her Story Initiative, Votes for Women recognizes that women from all lifestyles have made important contributions to American culture and history.
