The Kansas Wetlands Education Center in Great Bend offers state-of-the-art exhibits that tell the story of Cheyenne Bottoms from its ancient geological formation. It is the largest inland marsh in the United States.

Fort Hays State University manages KWEC in cooperation with the Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks & Tourism. Visit during migration seasons and you will get to see thousands of shorebirds or waterfowl take flight.

KWEC is open April 1 – October 31 and November 1 – March 31 and admission is free. Read more here.
