The Berca Mud Volcanoes are a geological wonder in the wilds of Eastern Romania. They represent one of the most interesting nature reserves in Europe.
Mud volcanoes fall into three categories:
•Mud volcanoes due to the emission of natural gases
•Mud volcanoes due to the emission of volcanic gases
•Mud volcanoes of seismic origin
The craters are up to 19 feet high with permanent or intermittent eruptions, whose intensity depend on the water that infiltrates the soil. More details about this exotic destination are here.
