Jamestown Settlement’s American Indian Intertribal Powwow will return on Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13, 2019 in Williamsburg, Virginia. The festivities include song and dance, storytelling and children’s activities.
This year the event will highlight the contributions of American Indian women, in conjunction with TENACITY: Women in Jamestown and Early Virginia a special exhibition legacy project that shares personal stories of real English, African and Virginia Indian women in the 17th century. It will also tell the story of Cockacoeske, recognized as “Queen of the Pamunkey”.
