AFRICAN-AMERICAN CULTURAL HERITAGE CELEBRATION

Jamestown Settlement & American Revolution Museum at Yorktown in Virginia is celebrating African-American Cultural Heritage month throughout February, 2020. The observances include gallery exhibits and educational programs.

Visitors can explore the history of the first slaves to arrive in 1619 as well as that of the English and Powhatan Indians they encountered. A special event, After Angelo, on February 29 will feature music, song and storytelling.

The Settlement and Museum are open daily from 9a.m. to 5pm. Information about admission is here.
