Pfizer recently became the first pharmaceutical company in the United States to receive approval to test its COVID-19 vaccine on children as young as 12. The clinical trial involves getting two shots.
Participants receive the shots three weeks apart and then the researchers monitor their health for two years. The kids do not know whether they are receiving a placebo injection or the actual COVID-19 vaccine.
According to researchers, the vaccines they are testing are safe. More information is available here.
