As Royal Caribbean gets ready to unveil Oasis later this month, which–for the time being anyway–will be the world’s largest cruise ship, Disney Cruise Line unveiled some magic of its own appropriately named Fantasy.
Goofy and Mickey were on hand as top Disney honchos revealed what will make Disney Cruise Line’s third ship–Disney Dream different. Tweens will love their separate club Edge, away from older teens and younger siblings. Everyone will love the AquaDuck water coaster, a high-speed flume that actually “swings out” in a loop over the side of ship. Check out the “enchanted art” that comes alive as guests pause in front of what they think is simply a drawing. Even better, opt for an indoor cabin and you get a “virtual porthole” with characters peering in to greet the kids from time to time.
Parents will love that Disney has upped the ante at the Oceaneer club, with a giant plasma screen where kids can not only watch movies but interact with Crush, the animated sea turtle. In Andy’s Room, the film Toy Story comes to life where kids can see what it feels to be toy-sized as they play among larger than life characters. For the littlest cruisers, the Small World Nursery for children as young as three months has been enlarged too while the adult only entertainment district offers plenty for parents on those date nights.
Disney Cruise Line clearly gets it. From the cheapest cabin to the most expensive suite, your gang can’t help but have fun on this ship which will set sail Jan. 26, 2010. You too. Thanks Mickey!
