Do You Scream for Ice Cream in the Mid-Atlantic?

When summer heat waves hit, there’s nothing like delicious ice cream to cool down those taste buds, and the Mid-Atlantic Region has plenty of mouth-watering options where visitors can order a tasty scoop – or two or three! In Delaware, UDairy Creamery is up and running in Downtown Wilmington, churning delicious ice cream made from milk produced by cows at the University of Delaware’s own College of Agriculture farm in Newark. In Maryland, The recently-opened Sandlot at Harbor Point, one of Baltimore’s many new waterfront development sites, is the perfect spot to enjoy an ice cream served from a recycled 1968 Safari Airstream trailer. In Pennsylvania, Sweet Willows Creamery in York County is a paradise with 30 flavors of homemade ice cream, yogurt and sherbet available daily. In Virginia, at Arlington’s Nicecream Factory, each scoop of local grass-fed cream and local ingredients from nearby farms are frozen on the spot using liquid nitrogen, creating the freshest handcrafted cup of ice cream you can get.
