The Oakland Museum of California recently announced details about the RESPECT: Hip-Hop Style & Wisdom spring exhibition. This event will be a celebration of one of the most influential cultural and social movements in the past 50 years. It will open on March 24, 2018 and will run through August 12, 2018 in OMCA’s Great Hall. A major attraction is the dynamic Hip-Hop Dojo: a practice, performance, and event space that will come alive with movement and sound as a kind of master class for Hip-Hop enthusiasts! Informed by insights from dozens of Hip-Hop historians, practitioners, and community members, this interdisciplinary expo will explore how the genre provides a platform for creative expression and activism.
