The opening ceremony for the Horwitz-Wasserman Holocaust Memorial Plaza at the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation took place on October 22, 2018. This ribbon-cutting event represented the culmination of a years-long effort to enhance the plaza housing the monument.
This memorial offers an innovative approach to Holocaust and genocide education by incorporating interactive technology with material reminders of the Holocaust. Its centerpiece is the “six pillars” which memorialize the six million martyrs.
