Humpback whales have been spotted frequently in the San Francisco Bay this summer. According to Researcher Bill Keener of Golden Gate Cetacean Research , it might be related to the improving health of the bay and other positive variables. The San Francisco Travel Association provides referrals to several whale watching tours and charters that can get you out on the water for a close look at these huge and spectacular creatures. The Humpback whales chow down on anchovies in the summer and are different from the Gray whales that pass the Golden Gate Strait from December- April.
