Learn about Wild Turkeys at the Winchester Museum in South Carolina

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Edgefield, South Carolina is where you will find the Wild Turkey Center. The organization is dedicated to the conservation of wild turkeys and operated in the Winchester Museum. A few fun facts about turkeys are:

  • Alaska is the only state where wild turkeys cannot be found
  • A hunter’s tool, the turkey call was created by Native Americans and dates back about 4,000 years
  • Wild turkeys are omnivores
