THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION: A WORLD WAR EXHIBITION

A new exhibition on the American Revolution will open on June 26, 2018 at the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. Your family can explore an important era through a global lens and learn about how the support of France and Spain during the Revolution helped to secure an American victory. The exhibition features compelling works of art including The Siege of Yorktown and The Surrender of Yorktown, both painted in 1786, as well as George Washington’s early 1780s portrait by Charles Willson Peale.
