WAKANDA TO SMITHSONIAN

The Black Panther’s hero costume is coming to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture. NMAAHC recently acquired several objects from the record-breaking film and they will be on display during the inaugural Smithsonian African American Film Festival from October 24-27, 2018.

Black Panther illustrates the progression of blacks in film and provides a fuller story of black identity and culture. The original story of the Black Panther character started in the late 1960s, during the height of the civil rights movement.
