Women’s Christmas in Ireland is a day designated to honor and celebrate women who work hard to make the holiday season memorable for their families. It takes place on January 6, also known as Epiphany, and is the day all the decorations come down.
Traditionally in Ireland this day is when women finally get a much-needed rest after catering to loved-ones during the Christmas festivities. In addition, it is a day on which children buy their mothers and grandmothers presents.
Celebrating Women’s Christmas has always been more popular in the west of Ireland. Read more about it here,
